Lighting Designer :: Lighting Director
David is a double BAFTA award winning television & live event lighting designer, who graduated from London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) with honours in lighting design.
Over the past 20+ years, David has worked on large scale events such as the Queen's Jubilee Concerts, Live Earth, The Royal Variety Performance and Children In Need; through global brands including Strictly Come Dancing (known internationally as Dancing With The Stars), the X Factor and "Got Talent" franchises; music festivals including the BBC Proms; as well as major UK state occasions such as the wedding of HRH Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, the funerals of both HRH Prince Philip and HM Queen Elizabeth II, the State Opening of Parliament and various services at St Paul's Cathedral. His work transcends nearly every genre - from entertainment & music television, through live events & artist performances, awards shows, reality, televised theatre and performance art. He also works in architectural lighting design, and is lighting consultant to the Palace of Westminster, UK Parliament & Greater London Authority.
From extravagant & complex one off special events through to the most straightforward small shoot, David prides himself on being able to deliver excellence in design and full commitment to every project without fail. He draws on his cross-genre experience to ensure the best possible result for each production, and benefits from the highly skilled and experienced team he has assembled around him.
David is passionate about the wellbeing of those around him, particularly in the sometimes high-stress environment of show production and has recently become a qualified Mental Health First Aider with MHFA England. He is also co-founder of the charity CraftAidUK which rescues and supports street children in Kampala, Uganda.
